Yesler Swamp Restoration Project – UW REN Project 2012

Hello,

We are a group of students from the University of Washington who are in the

process of restoring a section of Yesler Swamp. In order to get our degrees from the

University of Washington we must complete a capstone project, the restoration of this

area of Yesler Swamp is our capstone project. Himalayan Blackberry has invaded the

area we are working on and the native vegetation is being overtaken by Blackberry. The

goal of our project is remove all of the Blackberry and plant native species and prevent

the re-emergence of Blackberry in the area.

If you wish to volunteer or have any questions please email Danielle Lange at langed2. If you are not able to stay the entire time or need to show up late please notify me ahead of time so I have an idea of how many volunteers we will have throughout the day. We really appreciate any help that we can get.
