Late Course Drop Period (Annual Drop)

Each academic year (September through August) you may drop one course after the 14th calendar day of a quarter, but no later than the the end of the Late Course Drop Period. Once this "annual drop" is used, no additional drops will be permitted after the 14th calendar day until the next autumn quarter. A W grade and the week designation (W3 through W7) will follow the course title on your academic transcript. There is a $20 Change of Registration Fee charged for all registration changes made on a single day during this period. A tuition forfeiture may be charged.

UAA Advising Grades:

http://www.washington.edu/uaa/advising/gettingstarted/basics_grades.php

· S Satisfactory grade for courses taken on a satisfactory/not-satisfactory basis – An S grade is automatically converted from a numerical grade of 2.0 or above for undergraduates. The grade S may not be assigned directly by the instructor, but is a grade conversion by the Office of the University Registrar.

Courses so graded can only be used as free electives and cannot be used to satisfy a University, college, or department course requirement. S is not computed in GPA calculations.

· NS Not-satisfactory grade for courses taken on a satisfactory/not-satisfactory basis – A grade less than 2.0 for undergraduates is converted to NS. NS is not included in GPA calculations. No credit is awarded for courses in which an NS grade is received.
