Announcing the 7th Graduate Climate Conference

Calling all climate science graduate students,

Graduate students in MIT’s Program in Atmospheres, Oceans and Climate
are pleased to announce the 7th Graduate Climate Conference! GCC7 is
scheduled for November 1-3, 2013 at the Woods Hole Oceanographic
Institution on the south shores of Cape Cod, MA. This is a unique
conference for grad students, organized and run by grad students.
Please see the attached flier for a more detailed description.

Conceived by graduate students at the University of Washington, the
GCC remains true to its mission: provide a discussion forum for
graduate students undertaking research on climate and climate change
in an array of disciplines including atmosphere, ocean, earth,
cryosphere, and biological science. The conference is unique because
only students attend, providing a rare opportunity for the next
generation of climate scientists to interact without the inhibitions
that accompany the presence of faculty and senior scientists.

Applications will open in April and the deadline for abstract submission
is June 7, 2013. Food, lodging, and conference registration fees are provided
by our generous sponsors; travel grants will be provided on an as-needed basis
to as many participants as possible.

For more information, and a link to the application page, visit the
official website: Feel free to contact the
organizing committee with questions at gcc-2013.

To help spread the word, please print the attached flier, post it in
your department, show it off to your friends, and forward this email
to those who may be interested in applying.

We hope to see you in November!
