Weekly Native Plant Nursery Work Party!
Friday, October 21st: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Douglas Research Conservatory (DRC) at the CUH
Get ready to get your hands dirty with restoration work in UBNA! We’ll be removing invasive Himalayan blackberry along the amphibian corridor in the Union Bay Natural Area. We’ll provide thick gloves and tools, but make sure to dress for the weather! Long pants and sleeves are recommended to avoid scratches from the blackberry. Don’t miss out on this one, digging out invasive species is satisfying work!
Just bring yourself and a water bottle–we’ll provide the snacks! If you will be coming late, you may meet us out in UBNA by walking to the east side of the loop trail and looking for folks at work. Check out our facebook page or website (linked below) for maps.
Everyone is welcome and no experience is needed. Have questions? Email us at email@example.com.
Kincaid Ravine: SER-UW + EarthCorps Event!
Friday, October 21st: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Join us as we create native pollinator habitat in the largest remaining natural area on the UW campus! EarthCorps is partnering with the Society for Ecological Restoration-UW Chapter, the University of Washington Campus Sustainability Fund and the King Conservation District to promote a healthy forest in this site, known as Kincaid Ravine.
We’ll be planting native plants grown right here on campus! Plants for the site are provided courtesy of our very own UW-SER Nursery.
We’ll be planting rain or shine– come dressed to get dirty! Gloves, tools, and snacks will be provided. Find us in Kincaid Ravine located directly off of the Burke Gilman Trail! (See map below)
