|Project Highlight: Pollinator Corridor|
We’re adding a new lane along the Burke Gilman Trail: the Pollinator Corridor!
The Pollinator Corridor is the fruition of a special partnership between EarthCorps, the Green Seattle Partnership, Friends of the Burke Gilman Trail, and Adobe. The idea is to create a “corridor” of native wildflowers and shrubs for birds and insects as their rapidly disappearing living space is impacted by development, pesticides, non-native plants, and climate change. This is a continuation of a project which began in 2013 at the Kincaid Ravine Natural Area on the UW campus, also located on the Burke Gilman Trail.
Calling all gardeners, green thumbs, and bee lovers. Help us kick off this new project at a fall planting volunteer event on November 17th. At the first planting event volunteers will plant native pollinator plants along the Burke Gilman Trail just west of Gasworks Park.
Sign up to plant on our Volunteer Calendar.
|Leave a Legacy – Estate Planning Seminar October 26|
Wills, bequests, and medical directives plans are just some of the many documents you need to ensure that you and your loved ones are cared for during critical times. Take the mystery out of these documents with a very down to earth conversation about the essentials of your estate plan – large or small.
Please join us for a free 90-minute seminar on the basics of estate planning with attorney Teresa Byers of Garvey Schubert Barer Law. For your convenience, there are two times and two locations to choose from on October 26th: 1:30pm at the Ravenna Eckstein Community Center, or 6:00pm at Food Lifeline. Email Lydia Bassett for more information.
