Two Great New VLPA Courses from Slavic L&L

Ever have one of those days? Of course you have. You may even be having one now.

Never fear, I am here to brighten your day with the announcement of two brand new VLPA courses from the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. We are simply bubbling over with awesomeness.

First up – RUSS 223 “Russian Revolutions: Film”

From the early Soviet period through the Stalin years to the contemporary cinema in the time of Putin. Taught by our new faculty member Sasha Senderovich.

Secondly –

POLSH 320 “People, Places and Events: Images of Poland in Contemporary Polish Photography” (this course may not ever be taught again, since it is offered by our visiting Fulbright scholar) Also carries I&S credit.

Photography as anthropology, fictional narrative, documentation, memory and metaphor…
