BYOB is back and with our new winter quarter coach, Jay Schreiber! Students pitch an early idea, collaborate with one another, receive feedback and mentoring from an experienced entrepreneur, and work through the steps to successfully launch their startup OR move forward with a new idea.

Open to all undergraduate students only, all disciplines.

ATTEND the largest networking and Team Formation meet-up of the year on Thursday, January 18 from 7 to 8:30 pm inside Anthony’s Executive Forum (3rd floor of Dempsey Hall). This event follows the Science and Technology Showcase.

APPLY: Global Student Entrepreneur Awards Competition

Are you a full- or part-time student entrepreneur who has operated a for-profit or social enterprise for at least six months? Apply for this unique competition that will be held on January 19th at PACCAR Hall. You could win a trip to the national championship in Dallas, TX, the global championship in Toronto, Canada, and a nice sum of up to $10,000.

Whether you are working in a technical, medical, consumer, environmental, digital, or another space, awards are available between $500 and $3,000! Some restrictions apply.

Entrepreneurs come from every discipline. They are adept at turning novel ideas into reality, and are not afraid of challenging the status quo or tackling the big problems in society and science. But the truth is that it takes more than an idea to be successful: it takes the knowledge, experience, and network of a smart leader. Students who pursue the Entrepreneurship Minor are creative and energetic, with a critical eye for opportunities and the passion and skill to follow through. Application deadline: January 25

Open to all non-MBA graduate and PhD students.

The Buerk Center’s certificate in entrepreneurship prepares University of Washington graduate and PhD students for the world of start-ups and new technology enterprises. Our emphasis on cross-campus involvement means you’ll take entrepreneurship courses alongside students from other disciplines, work with UW inventors on their market-ready applications, and have the opportunity to apply for fellowships in UW technology ventures or local angel funds. Certificate students, whose disciplines range from engineering and architecture to drama and medicine, take classes, gain real-world experience, and network with the region’s most innovative entrepreneurs. Working together, students bring ideas to life. Rolling admissions.
