Don’t miss these exciting events with UW Study Abroad!
The last Gilman info session of spring quarter is today from 3pm-4pm in the Ethnic Cultural Center, Room 206. The Gilman Scholarship awards up to $5,000 for undergraduate study abroad. Applicants must be receiving a federal Pell grant as part of their financial aid award to be eligible. Students planning a study abroad for winter 2019, spring 2019 or summer 2019 are strongly urged to attend this session. The application deadline for these programs is October 2nd (which includes early consideration for summer), which is very soon after fall quarter begins, so it is critical that students get this information before they leave for summer break.
UW Study Abroad will also be hosting two discussions focusing on navigating identity abroad. The first examines being a woman abroad and will be on Thursday May 17th from 4pm-5:30pm in 171 Mary Gates Hall. We have assembled a fabulous student panel, so please encourage students preparing to go abroad to attend this discussion.
Our second discussion is a broader discussion on identity and features a mixed panel of both men and women and will be on Tuesday, May 22nd from 4pm-5:30 in COM 226.
Faculty and staff are also more than welcome to attend these discussions. Snacks will be provided!
