National Geographic Society Grant Opportunities in Sustainability

  • Deadline: July 10, 2018 and October 3, 2018
  • Grants of up to $10,000 for Early Career Grants or $30,000 for Exploration Grants will be awarded. The goal is to support some of the world’s most cutting-edge projects focused on developing sustainable solutions to the problems resulting from the conflict between a growing society and the environment through conservation, education, research, storytelling or technology. Please use the term “sustainable” or “sustainability” in the title or project description of your application. Grant projects last one calendar year or less. Funding usually supports travel (including for teams) and fieldwork (including equipment and supplies). Grant awards do not cover funding for scholarships, tuition, training courses, travel to conferences, study abroad programs, school living expenses, journal publication fees or internships. A small amount of the requested budget can be allocated for lab work or analyses.
